A Trilema

C. S. Lewis used the logic that Jesus’ claims to be equal with God leaves us with a trilema-- that is
Jesus was either a) a con artist making untrue claims, b) crazy or c) truly God Incarnate.

He summed it up as: He is either a liar, a lunatic or The Lord God Himself.

In the same way, the disciples quickly spreading the teachings of Jesus and consistently claiming He died and rose again, leaves us with the same 3 options.

A)  They conspired to make up the story.  But conspiracies don’t hold together when people are threatened with death and imprisonment.  It doesn’t explain these why xenophobic men traveling the world over and turning it upside down.

B)   They suffered a mass delusion.  This doesn’t hold well.
All of them thought they saw a risen Jesus?

C)   It is true.  This is really the most believable of the options.  What else explains the change in these people’s lives and their willingness to die for their beliefs.  What else can explain their passion to go to ends of the earth to teach about Jesus?

It is either the Greatest Event of Eternity or the biggest lie or delusion.  It demands your decision.
