The Garden State

I Love New Jersey!
I'm not crazy-- of course I don't like the traffic,
high cost of housing, taxes and car insurance but...
I Love the People of New Jersey.
Hard-working good people.
New Jerseyians, on average work the longest hours of anyone in the country. We get less sleep and do the most commuting. We pay the most federal tax and get the least back i.e. we subsidize much of the rest of the country. (Maybe these facts contribute to the Jersey Attitude.) And...
A recent survey rated New Jersey as the 'most moral state' after #1 Utah (with its strong Mormon population.)
I love the diversity!
We have had people from over 35 nations attend our church.
I love the influence a cosmopolitan church may have.
One couple who came to know the Lord here in Scotch Plains
moved back to Colorado and now are involved in funding a school in Nepal.
Another couple just sent a picture of their Bible study group they are leading.
Now in Australia, they were part of our Bible studies here in Scotch Plains.
Bible Studies in Australia, Bibles in a remote part of Nepal ...
largely because a small church exists in the Garden State.
The Rutgers slogan Jersey Roots, Global Reach
could apply to the Scotch Plains Christian Church
Pray for us as we seek to build the Kingdom in the Garden State.
