Christian Church? . . .
We use the term Christian Church not as a denominational designation,
but rather as a descriptive term indicating that our congregation is a non-sectarian fellowship.
The source of our identity is not a religious label i.e.
we are not seeking to be protestant nor Catholic nor any denomination--
but we are trying to communicate that we are simply followers of Jesus Christ.
We strive to make the New Testament scriptures
the basis for all matters of faith, doctrine and Christian behavior.
(This is not to say that the Old Testament is to be set aside,
but only that the earliest pattern for the Church is set forth in the New Testament.)
Our desire is for unity.
We will never all agree about many aspects of faith (and may even change our minds about some things).
The early church allowed for freedom in the non-essential matters of opinion.
The Apostle Paul commanded that we were to hold and share differences with
discretion and courtesy befitting followers of Christ.
And so we seek ...
unity when it comes to interpretation and response
to the clear teaching of God's Word in elemental commands of the Bible;
liberty in diversity of opinions;
charity i.e. respectful grace in all things.
Our goal is to bring honor and glory to the Lord Jesus,
by reaching out to others with the compelling story of Jesus Christ,
by teaching the Word,
by providing an opportunity for worship & fellowship and
by encouraging one another as we work together to grow in Him.
You are always welcome to join us in the varied activities.
We believe it is important to ask questions.
We encourage you to seek answers to your questions about the church,
the scriptures or others issues regarding faith.
